EA released the last Franchise Mode update forMadden NFL 21at the beginning of March, but just followed up with another new update.Madden 21’s 1.26 update will address some of the bugs and glitches that have lingered since theFranchise Mode update. While players should not expect any new content inMadden 21, the update may fix some of the issues players have encountered.
Madden NFL 21regained some popularity after launching on EA Play, giving Xbox Game Pass Ultimate owners a chance to hop onto the gridiron. As players have taken the opportunity to play the title, many have noticed there are still some bugs scattered throughout the game, although not nearly as harmful as bugs when the game first released.

Although the latest Franchise Mode update was intended to tweak AI trade logic and add league historical context, it seems some bugs have come along with the changes. One player noticed that theircoach in Franchise mode received a hilarious rainbow makeover, so the 1.26 update will most likely address this and similar bugs. TheMadden1.26 update does not contain any patch notes, but based on the changelog for the PlayStation 4, the update will address stability and quality improvements.
The update launched across all platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, meaning the bugs and glitches will hopefully be fixed on next-gen versions of the title as well. The update could also fix some AI logic in the Franchise Mode, as one player shared aquestionable coaching decision made by their AI in Franchise Modeleading into an important game.
It seems theMadden 211.26 update may be the last one for the title. EA most likely hasturned focus toMadden NFL 22, which is expected to be announced soon with a release later in 2021 given the history of yearlyMaddenreleases. AlthoughMadden 22has yet to be officially announced, rumors have been circulating regarding upcoming features that could improve the release of the nextMadden.
Madden 21released with some disappointment for fans, many believing that it did not innovate enough from the year before. Some fans even called for the NFL to drop EA, and forMaddento fix its Franchise Mode. EA released a number of updates for Franchise Mode to make up for the state of the game mode at release, so hopefully Franchise Mode will haveimprovements inMadden 22when it does release.
