TheMass Effectseries has captured gamers' attention since the first game was released back in 2008. Though the franchise is well over a decade old now, that hasn’t stopped fans showing their love for theMass Effectgames, and new fans being able to play the story-driven, sci-fi RPGs with the release ofMass Effect: Legendary Edition. Celebrated by fans for having a cast of likable characters,Mass Effect’ssupporting cast has often charmed enough for fans to create tributes to their favorite characters.

From a LEGO bust of Quarian crewmate Tali, to animagining of fan favorite Garrus as a Jedi,Mass Effectfans have found numerous and creative ways to show off their love for a certain character or the franchise as a whole. Now though, one fan is looking to create a tribute to the series' antagonists, the Reapers. The Reapers are insect-like, huge machines that are created with the goal of wiping life from the galaxy every fifty-thousand years or so.

For the first threeMass Effectgames, the Reapers are Shepard’s most intimidating threat, and the player must work throughout the games to find a way to save the galaxy’s lives. One fan though, Reddit user dr_pupsgesicht, has made the Reapers seems slightly less intimidating by creating the machines with LEGO. Using LEGO creation tool stud.io, theMass Effectfan was able to imagine what a LEGO version of the Reapers could look like, creating four unique designs showing off their LEGO building skills.

The Reaper models look very close to the huge machines of death seen in theMass Effectgames, though something that is missing that was spotted by fans is the lack of purple coloring that Reapers are known for. It is difficult to get hold of purple LEGO bricks, so many were quick to ignore that slight misstep with the build. More who saw the Reddit post commented about the accuracy of the model, asking for instructions on how to build it. Even more fans wanted to see aMass EffectLEGO set, allowing players to build every ship seen inShepard’s cabin on the Normandyin the later games.

Fan tributes have often combined LEGO and favorite gaming moments. From oneRed Dead Redemption 2fan creating the game’s most famous scenes in LEGO to aZeldafan recreating the entirety of the first game’s map, LEGO gives a seemingly endless amount of possibilities for fans to create tributes with. Gaming LEGO sets, like the crossover between LEGO andMinecraft, have happened before, though whetherMass Effectwill get that treatment is currently unknown.
