Minecraftprovides an amazing sandbox for players to flex their creative muscles in, but oneMinecraftplayer is taking that creative freedom especially far. This player is on a mission to build every planet theStar Warsuniverse has to offer, and they’re already off to a good start.

Redditor vistachess, known as VC-MC on YouTube, has officially announced their intentions to recreate a galaxy far, far away inMinecraft, beginning with two of theStar Warsfranchise’s most iconic planets: the desert planet of Tatooine and the city-planet of Coruscant.Star Warsfans have previously usedHalo 5’s forge mode to recreate a Tatooine sunset, but vistachess has already recreated both Tatooine and Coruscant’s full landscapes as a flat, open-world adventure map.

Reportedly, vistachess spent the last year building these planets inMinecraft, and now they recently shared a trailer showcasing the results of their hard work. Apparently built inMinecraft1.12.2, the trailer shows off the deep ravines and simple towns of Tatooine before switching to the towering skyline and glimmering starports of Coruscant. This isn’t the first timeMinecraftandStar Warshave come together, but it may be one of the most stunningStar Wars-themed maps out there.

Vistachess also shared detailed screenshots of Tatooine and Coruscant on Reddit that provide a closer look at their creations, from the sunset on Tatooine to the Senate District on Coruscant. They also provided labeled, zoomed-out maps of both planets that may make navigating them easier. The maps can be downloaded free from the link in the description of the trailer. Apparently, the planets were built in WorldPainter and WorldEdit, a pair of free programs used by Minecraft fans to createMinecraftlevels and mods.

As of this writing, these recreations ofStar Warsplanets appear to be well-received by fans. Many users congratulated and complimented the builder on their creations, though some other users have expressed skepticism about when vistachess’s work will be complete. After all, if it took them about a year to create just two planets. Recreating the entireStar Warsgalaxy is likely to take over a decade. However, skilledMinecraftbuilders have created massive sculpturesin brief periods of time before, so vistachess’s goal may not be as far-fetched as it may seem at first glance. They’ve already shared progress pictures of what appears to be the vibrant green landscape of Naboo.
