Summary
My Hero Academiahas been nothing short of spectacular over the course of the last few weeks, and fans have been loving the developments in the story. However, the latest chapter of the series,MHAchapter 423, might just have been somewhat different.
This chapter ofMy Hero Academiahas proven to be divisive among the fans and this is because the conclusion of the war turned out to be different from what many fans expected it to be. That said, what fans know for sure now is that the final war of the series is now concluded.

The Finale Of The Final War
Deku Has Officially Ended The War In MHA
My Hero Academia’s Final War Sagawas always going to feature Deku greatly. Fans knew that he would be theHero to save the day,and that is precisely what ended up happening, in a way. What was brilliant about the conclusion ofMy Hero Academiawas that Deku was trying his utmost best to stick to his principles and save Shigaraki. Of course, this was something that a lot of the fans did not like, as, usually, fighting against a bad guy and erasing them is what the final battles are all about. While Shigaraki was a bad guy, he was more complex than just that.
The entire situation was made even more tricky for Deku to deal with after he witnessed his memories and found out that right from his birth,Shigaraki was actually manipulated. The battle against Shigarakibecame somewhat easier when All For One took Over, as Deku had no remorse for going all out. Over the course of the last few chapters, that is what the story has focused on, and fans got to witness a Grand battle between All For One and One For All. Knowing that Deku had already transferred all his Quirks to Shigaraki, this was going to be an uphill task. However, his body still held the embers inside, and using these embers, he was able to make a difference.

I stopped you because you wanted to be stopped.
Of course, Deku was not alone in this battle either. He had the support of all the Heroes from U.A, and, at the same time, his friends around him as well. This made all the difference as, alone, Deku would not have been able to pull it off. This is an incredibly amazing aspect of the story that the author focused on, and makingDeku receive the supportof all those around him, as well as them opening up a path for him, made this final battle against All For One that much more digestible for the fans. It also gave another shining moment to the many Heroes in the series, and fans thoroughly enjoyed that. Even those who were on the brink of death believed in Deku and did what they could to open up a path for him, which was beautiful for all the fans of the series to see. That is precisely howDeku was able to charge up his final attackand deliver a powerful blow on thegreatest of all villains, All For One.

Deku Destroys All For One
All For One Was Not Able To Stand Against Deku
My Hero Academiachapter 423 was absolutely massive, as, in this chapter, All For One finally fell. Now, this battle could have been better if it wasn’t so repetitive, but despite that, the conclusion of All For One was, at the very least, decent. All For One had already been defeated onceand fans even got a proper flashback of everything that he did in life. His battle against Bakugo was a very good conclusion to his character. The fact that he appeared here once again somewhat tempers down the intensity in the finale, as this should have been Shigaraki’s moment. Instead, fans got yet another moment with All For One, whereDeku had to take him down.
Now, this moment would have worked very well had it not meant that Shigaraki crumbled with him. However, that is precisely what ended up happening. As the Heroes opened up a path for Deku, he lept in the air anddelivered a powerful blow to All For One. Shigaraki’s body started crumbling. With sheer willpower and the ability of All For One, he was able to keep his body intact. However, that is precisely where the Heroes jumped in once again.
Specifically, Shirakumo, who was ordered to save Shigaraki Tomura, and at the same time, Bakugo, who always wanted to aid Deku, entered the fray. Together, they allowed Deku to land another powerful blow on the King of all villains, All For One. This time around, the blow was so powerful that he ended up crumbling to dust. With that, All For One was completely destroyed and fans got aproper vision of him meeting Yoichionce again.
This time, Yoichi existed only as an ember of One For All that Deku finally transferred to his body. Here, Yoichi and all the other vestiges made sure that All For One paid for his crimes, and this time, stayed dead for good. Despite everything, in the end,All For One died a pathetic death as a lonely man, which is exactly the type of ending that he deserved. Of course, this part of the story would have been fine and acceptable to the fans had it not meant that Shigaraki crumbled into dust as well.
The Sun Beams On Deku And The Aftermath Of The War Begins
Deku Has Announced Himself To The Entire World Now
With the final blow having been landed, fans got a small interaction between Deku and Shigaraki, which left all of them perplexed. Essentially, Shigaraki mentioned that it wasNana who helped him get his body backfrom the depths and take control once again, playing a significant role in All For One crumbling into dust.
If Spinner survived, tell him this, “Shigaraki Tomura fought until the very end to destroy”
However, at the same time, Shigaraki called himself a failure and credited Deku for doing what he claimed that he would do. Furthermore, Deku mentioned to Shigaraki that he was only able to stop him becausehe wanted to be stopped, which adds yet another layer of humanity to Shigaraki. Knowing that he had been manipulated his whole life, Shigaraki deserved a second shot at life, and that goes without saying. Deku mentioned thathe could not forgive Shigarakifor what he had done and that goes without saying. Shigaraki deserves to pay for his crimes, but perhaps, not with his own life.
In his final words, Shigaraki asked Deku to mention to Spinner, if he’s still alive, that he fought right to the very end to destroy. With that, he crumbled into dust and the sun beamed down onIzuku, the greatest Hero of all time.Naturally, this ending is very divisive, as Deku’s greatest shining moment was essentially killing Shigaraki, especially after knowing all the horrors that he had been through and what made him into the monster that he was portrayed to be. Hopefully, there will be more context to this, otherwise, this ending was somewhat unfulfilling for many fans.
