After reaching the halfway point inNieR Replicant, players will have an entirely new set of side quests to complete across the game’s previously discovered regions. One of the first side questsNieR Replicantplayers can obtain is from the Item Shopkeeper located directly to the left upon entering the village.
The shopkeeper will inform the player that he has recently been the victim of thieves who routinely steal the food he has for sale. After accepting the quest, players are tasked with investigating the townspeople to uncover who is behind this recent stint of robberies.

To complete the quest, players must speak with a number of NPC’s who will give the player clues as to the thief’s identity. The first NPC they will want to speak with is the guard located directly behindthe flower vendorby the town’s entrance.
After speaking with the village guard, run through the town and speak with the old man sitting on the stool. The old man will inform the player that he believes the recent thefts are being committed by more than one perpetrator.
From the old man’s location, continue down towardsthe Seafront exitand speak with another guard in similar attire to the first NPC players received a clue from. This guard will inform the player that he saw some “pint-sized fellows lurking in the shadows” which leads the player to believe that the perpetrators are children.
The suspects that the player must confront can be found at the town’s waterwheel next to the small lakewhere players can catch Black Bass. To reach the location, return to the entrance of the town and head up the ramp to the city wall. Follow the wall around the city which will lead players to the two children.
After being confronted the children admit to the recent theft, but claim that they only committed the crimes because their father instructed them to. Players must now confront the boys' father who can be found inthe village tavern.
At the tavern, players will find the father drunk. After confronting him with the allegation of directing his sons to steal he is unrepentant. Grimoire Weiss will then state to the player that their time is wasted on the father and that they should report their finding to the shopkeeper instead.
After informing the shopkeep of the situation, he agrees that the children are not at fault and will not pursue the investigation any further. The player will then receive a 3000 gold reward for completing the quest.
