Summary
From an adrenaline-pumped and carnage-filled debut,theNinja Kamuiserieshas set the tone for action and combat anime for the rest of the anime year. The show is premised on the bloody path of the revenge-fuelled protagonist, Higan.
The series is not lagging in terms of immensely strong characters, as it boasts quite a number. From the one-eyed clan leader to the mech-infused lieutenants and the one-eyed brooding Sasuke personal assistant,the series already has the toneof its cast set in carnage and strength at just its halfway point. Therefore, here are some of the series' strongest characters.
7Boss Ninja
Ability: Superhuman prowess
Doused with theaura of a major antagonist, Boss Ninja debuts in the series' first episode with a terrifying poise that seems to envelop the entire episode. He quickly shows why he is an unmasked assassin among the many faceless fodder sent the way of Joe Higan and the other rogue ninjas that serve as the foundation of the series' plot.
Responsible for the first major death in the show, the boss ninja brandishes a large sword that reflects his strength and size as a ninja. Strong as he appeared, however, He bows out also in dramatic fashion in a blood bath against the protagonist, ultimately leading to his capture.
6Big D
Ability: Levitation
Notable for his ridiculously high fade hairstyleand obsession with combing it, Big D is among the four Lieutenants in league with AUZA and Yamaji. Introduced in the series' fourth episode, Big D as a lieutenant is inerrably a ninja of considerable strength as he is one of the four characters with high-tech ninja armour, which raises his combat abilities immensely.
Unfortunately, the show has not evaluated Big D’s actual combat abilities, as he has not engaged in any combat in the series. Still, given the combat abilities of the lieutenants, it is inferrable that he is at least twice as strong as the boss ninja.
5Emma Samanda
Ability: Optical Illusions
One of theseries' more deceptive characters, Emma, is introduced early on as an FBI agent and clueless colleague of Mike Morris, the detective. Initially thought to be helping Higan as a result of her affiliation with Mike Morris, it turns out she is one of the four lieutenants working under AUZA and Yamaji who are responsible for the murder of Higan’s family.
As a lieutenant, Emma is immensely strong, like other lieutenants, compared to the average ninja. However, she is on the weaker side among the lieutenants, as shown by her battle against Lil, another lieutenant. The outcome of their battle resulted in her on the brink of death in an undecided state.
4Lil
Ability: Fire Breathing
Another of the lieutenants, Lil, is a man with a rather peculiar appearance. He is short but has a rather robust and extremely perverted personality, as shown early in his introduction in the series' second episode. Like other lieutenants, Lil is an abnormally strong ninja, specifically when suited up in his armour. He prefers to run his errands through his subordinates, as shownduring a bloody assassinationat the start of the show’s third episode.
However, his strength is undeniable following his battle with Emma, which resulted in an almost one-sided beatdown for Emma, leaving her on the brink of death. While Lil is not the typical example of a ninja, his battle against Emma only reiterates his strength as one of the lieutenants.
3Zai
Ability: Eye of The Crow
Formerly of the ninja trio of Higan, Mari, and himself, Zai and Yamaji are the only introduced ninjas remaining within the ninja clan after the supposed merger with foreign investors in AUZA. Known within the organisation as ‘the Reaper’, Zai is the personal lieutenant to Yamaji. Like Higan, he is one of the orthodox members of the clan despite the advanced technology at his disposal and the only one shown so far not to have been exiled.
Regarding strength, Zai is suggestively on par with Higan as they were comrades who almost could not be differentiated but certainly leagues above others. His strength is put on display with his seamless battle against a former mentor.
2Higan
Ability: Shadow Clone
The series' protagonist, Higan, is an exiled who goes on acarnage-filled vengeanceafter the brutal murder of his wife and son at the hands of the organisation he was expelled from. Among the series cast, Higan has displayed the most combat prowess, implying that even among his colleagues, he is not to be trifled with, as Yamaji also admitted.
Ruthless, fearless, and precise, Higan’s proficiency in the ninja arts makes him a target of elimination for the highest tier of the organisation. Higan is on par with Zai, if not stronger, in terms of strength. However, that is to be decided as the show continues to unfold.
1Yamaji
Ability: Telekinesis
The current head of the clan and the one responsible for the clan’s shift outside the jurisdiction of Japan to America, Yamaji, is by a considerable distancethe most fearsome characterthis show has to offer, as shown by his level of influence within AUZA. Responsible for the assassinations and executions of the exiled assassins, Yamaji is the focal point of Higan’s desire for revenge.
Physically dominating in appearance, he is a large man with a striking presence, as observed by his treatment of Lil during the lieutenants' meeting. His position as the current clan leader, if nothing, reflects his immense strength, even if said strength is yet to be put on display.
