This tribute is especially heartwarming as severalFinal Fantasy 7characters have appeared in variousKingdom Heartstitles, with Cloud himself appearing as an ally inKingdom Hearts 2and his iconic nemesis Sephiroth starring as a notoriously difficult optional boss encounter in several games. Previously, the officialKingdom HeartsTwitter hadcelebrated the 25th anniversary ofFinal Fantasy 7with art showing protagonist Sora in a Cloud-inspired pose.

While March 28 officially marks 20 years sinceKingdom Heartsreleased, developer Square Enix will be celebrating the anniversary withan event in Tokyo on April 10. The event will include a mini concert featuring music from throughout the series, new exclusive merchandise, and multiple announcements, possibly including information on the rumoredKingdom Hearts 4.The developer also plans to continue celebrating the series anniversary throughout 2022, with announcements and news coming all year long. So far, it has released multipleKingdom Heartstitles for the Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming.

Some fans ofFinal Fantasy 7may be disappointed that this celebratory tweet did not include a release date announcement for Part 2 of the remake. However, fans of the franchise should not be too disappointed just yet. Currently, many theorize that Square Enix is saving theRemake Part 2announcementfor the upcoming E3 event, as E3 was also where the first part of the Remake was initially showcased.
