Since its debut,One Piecehas blessed fans with a lively cast of main characters, the Straw Hat Pirates, and several quirks that make them tick. Even in dire situations, fans can expect at least one Straw Hat member to lighten the mood. It wouldn’t beOne Piecewithout some humor, after all.

Though fans can usually expect comic relief from Luffy and Usopp, they can also find it from the Straw Hats' own Cat Burglar Nami. A navigator with a weakness for money, the situations that Nami gets herself into are hilarious in their own right, with certain moments, in particular, standing out.
1Using Zoro As a Lauching Pad
The early arcs ofOne Piecehave some of the funniest moments that the series has to offer. One such example can be found duringthe short but entertaining Syrup Village arcwhen the Straw Hats prepare to battle the Black Cat Pirates.
In this arc, Usopp creates an oil slick to prevent the Black Cat Pirates from raiding his village, though this has the unfortunate result of trapping Nami and Zoro on the wrong side of the slick. Fortunately, Nami makes it to the mainland by jumping onto poor Zoro’s back, much to his irritation and everyOne Piecefan’s amusement.
2Bidding Farewell to Cocoyashi Village
In stark contrast, the Arlong Park arc proved to be a turbulent and emotional time for the Straw Hats, especially for Nami. Even amidstNami’s painful pastand desperate struggle to free Cocoyashi Village though, this arc still had time for some light-hearted moments revolving around the Straw Hat navigator.

After Arlong’s defeat at the hands of Luffy, Nami ultimately decided to join the Straw Hat Pirates permanently. In doing so, she bid farewell to her hometown in typical Nami fashion: by leaping onto the Going Merry and swiftly stealing the villagers' wallets.
3Drinking Contest at Whiskey Peak
At this point, everyOne Piecefan knows that Nami has a weakness for money and will do nearly anything in her power to obtain it, with very few exceptions. This weakness would carry over long after Nami became a permanent fixture in the Straw Hat Pirates, all the whilespawning many funny moments revolving around herin the process.
One such moment can be found during the party celebrating the Straw Hats' arrival in Whiskey Peak. Initially reluctant to partake in a drinking contest among the Whiskey Peak residents, Nami later changes her mind when the mayor bribes her with one hundred thousand Beris and even manages to out-drink an unwitting Zoro.
4Stopping Luffy and Zoro’s Duel
In the same arc, Nami accepts a request from Igaram to escort Princess Nerfertari Vivi back to the kingdom of Alabasta. Eager to complete the task so that she can get her hands on the one billion Beri reward, Nami’s excitement is short-lived when she comes across Luffy and Zoro fighting.

Predictably, Nami puts an end to the duel by smacking both Luffy and Zoro silly before explaining to them the new turn of events. It is a funny moment on its own, but it also demonstrates how mature Nami is compared to the rest of the Straw Hats at the time.
5Fighting Miss Doublefinger
The Alabasta arc was the first arc in which Nami was put into an actual combat situation. In this case, Nami was forced to do battle with Miss Doublefinger, a ruthless Officer Agent who had eaten the Toge Toge no Mi.
Armed witha toy version of her signature Clima-Tact, Nami could only run away screaming while many of her weapon’s “techniques” proved to be weak if not outright ineffective. Initially angry over the Clima-Tact’s uselessness, Nami eventually discovered a way to properly and cleverly utilize its functions, which earned her a solid win against Miss Doublefinger.
6Getting Acquainted With Nico Robin
After departing from Alabasta and defeating Crocodile, Nami, like most of the other Straw Hats, was depressed at leaving Vivi behind despite knowing she had to be there for her kingdom. Amidst their moping though, Nico Robin suddenly revealed herself to the crew, leaving them in utter shock.

At first, Nami was wary due tohaving encountered Robin as an enemy. However, Nami’s suspicions immediately turned to delight upon being presented with a sack full of Crocodile’s jewelry, and she was almost too quick to accept Robin as her fellow crewmate.
7Exploring Skypiea
Having heard rumors of an island in the sky,the Straw Hat Pirates arrive in Skypieain search of Shandora: a lost city of gold and treasure. In true Straw Hat fashion, however, the crew find themselves in funny situations as early as their arrival on the island, namely when some of them are disembarking from the Going Merry.
When Robin discovers some relics on Skypiea, Nami decides to tag along in the hopes of finding some treasure. Unfortunately for her, this means that she must swing on a vine over shark-infested waters, much to her utter dismay and the fans' amusement.
8Waking Up in Weatheria
Nami’s first encounter with Haredas, a resident of the island Weatheria, can aptly be described as a literal rude awakening. Of course, given the set of circumstances that Nami found herself in, her over-the-top yet harsh reaction was rather understandable.
After being scattered by Bartholomew Kuma and waking up in Haredas' house, both Nami and Haredas are equally shocked upon seeing each other for the first time. Though Haredas tries to cheer Nami up, the latter’s initial focus was to return to her crew, leading to her comically attacking Haredas in frustration.
9A Case of Mistaken Identity
Much like the Arlong arc, the Whole Cake Island arc was packed with deeply emotional moments between members of the Straw Hat Pirates. Despite these tense moments, however, there was still time for some levity, namely when Nami and Luffy were in the Seducing Woods.
In one scene, Nami is tied up by Luffy when he finds duplicates of her and their friends in the Seducing Woods. Naturally, she is not too happy about this, and once Luffy realizes his mistake, Nami wastes no time berating him in a comical yet understandable rage.
10Reuniting with Zeus in Wano
A recent companion to whom Nami was introducedduring the Whole Cake Island arcwas Zeus, who served as one of Big Mom’s main homies. Having met Nami on Totto Land, Zeus acted as Nami’s servant for a time until he was reclaimed by Big Mom herself on Onigashima.
However, Zeus managed to escape from Big Mom and reunite with Nami amidst the titanic battle of Onigashima. While their reunion might seem heartwarming to some fans on the surface, others might find some hilarity in Nami’s devious looks toward a rather nervous Zeus.
