Available to those that played the originalOverwatchas well as newcomers that have managed to complete 50 Quick Play matches,Overwatch 2Competitiveis where players go to truly hone their skills in Blizzard’s hero-shooter.

The main goal ofOverwatch 2Competitive is to rank up and try earning the highest rank possible.Overwatch 2makes some big changes to Competitive, abandoning the SR system of the original game for a tier-based one instead. Something that hasn’t changed in the transition fromOverwatch 1toOverwatch 2is that players earn still earn Competitive Points when they win that can be used to purchase golden weapons for their favorite heroes.

A bug is gifting someOverwatch 2players with thousands upon thousands of Competitive Points, enough to get multiple golden weapons without having to put in the work.Golden weapons inOverwatch 2cost 3,000 Competitive Points, so some players have managed to snag quite a few golden weapons thanks to this latest bug.

It’s unclear how this happened or if Blizzard is going to take the golden weapons away that players purchased with their free Competitive Points. But while this is an example ofOverwatch 2players getting stuff they didn’t have when transferring fromOverwatch 1, some players haven’t even been able to access all the content that they had in the older game.

Overwatch 2’s launch has had quite a few problems, with player progression being a key issue. ManyOverwatch 2players have booted up the game to discover that none of theirOverwatch 1skinsand other cosmetic items are available in the sequel. In some cases, the game even confusesOverwatch 1veterans with brand-new players, triggering the First-Time User Experience and locking away many of the heroes on the roster.

Blizzard is working onOverwatch 2’s various issues and implementing fixes. SomeOverwatch 2players have since gotten theirOW1cosmetics back, so those that have yet to receive their content should rest assured that it will become available to them at some point. Time will tell how long it takes for Blizzard to iron outOverwatch 2’s launch woes, but with theHalloween eventaround the corner, hopefully everything gets under control sooner rather than later.
