Summary
There are a lot of different Passive Skills inPalworld, and not all of them are beneficial. When capturing Pals, players will see that these Pals will usually have a random assortment of one or two Passives. And, these Passives can range from -3 (Aka a very negative effect) to +3 (a very positive effect) with no real logic governing it when they’re captured in the wild.
However, once players unlock the Breeding Farm and start to use that, they’ll gain a bit of control over how these Passive Skills are passed down, although a recent patchdid make one negative change to the Breeding system. So, considering that, let’s take a look at all the Passive Skills inPalworldand talk about the absolute best ones players should be trying to get through Breeding.

Legend
3
+20 percent Attack, +20 percent Defense, & +15 percent Movement Speed

Let’s start things off with the most obvious inclusion and the biggest overall buff in the game, Legend. The Legend Passive is one that might seem silly to include here since it’s one that’s only found on Legendary Pals. However, something that a lot of players just assumed but never tested themselves was that Legend couldn’t be passed down. However, it absolutely can, meaning players can get the Legend Passive Skill on any Pal they want if they have the right combination of Pals.
This is the best Passive Skill, hands down, and players should have every Pal they plan to use in their team oreven assigned to their basesget this Passive Skill through Breeding, if possible.

+30 percent Movement Speed.
Next up is the Swift Passive Skill, one of the four Movement Speed buffing Skills that anyone trying to breed the ‘fastest Pal Mount’ is likely already familiar with. This Skill alongside Runner, Nimble, and Legend, can give a Pal quite the absurd Movement Speed boost.
But, even on non-mounts, this Skill is worth getting most of the time. The reasoning for this is simple, the faster the Pal, the faster they’ll move ‘into position’ to attack and the faster they’ll chase down an opponent. And, for the rare few Pals with Partner Skills affected by move speed (such asDepresso), this can also be incredibly useful.

Attack +20 percent.
Now onto the first attack buff on here, it’s Ferocious. Ferocious is a very simple Passive Skiill, it just directly increases the affected Pal’s overall Attack stat. But, remember this is a percentage increase, so it can have a much bigger effect than it may seem at first glance.
To give an example, if a Pal has an attack of say, 500, then this Passive Skill would bump their Attack all the way up to 600. Absolutely worth Breeding for on any Pal a player is considering using on their team.

Work Speed +50 percent.
While a lot of the Passive Skills on here will be included based on their increases to the Pal’s Movement Speed or combat-relevant stats, Artisan is the best Passive overall to get on a Palthat’s going to be assigned to a base. Remember thatPalworldis a survival game, and there’s a ton of crafting to be done in it.
And, in the late game, crafting items and smelting Pal Metal especially can take forever (especially ifcertain bugs get in the way), unless the Pal smelting or crafting has Artisan. While this has less of an effect on the tasks that only one Pal can work on at a time, such as smelting, multiple Pals with Artisan all working to build something will get done in a fraction of the time it would have originally taken them.

1
+30 percent Work Speed & -30 percent Attack.
Next up is another Work Speed-related Passive Skill, and one with a pretty rough name, Work Slave. This Passive Skill is similar to Artisan, but because it’s a tier 1 and not a tier 3, it has less of a benefit and even has the downside of de-buffing the Pal’s Attack stat. However, if players get this Skill on a Pal that they don’t plan on using in their team and only plan on having work in their base, then the Work Slave Skill is one of the best around.
2

+30 percent Attack & -50 percent Work Speed.
This next Skill is essentially the exact opposite of the Work Slave Passive Skill, and it’s called Musclehead. Instead of increasing Work Speed and decreasing Attack, it increases Attack and decreases Work Speed.
However, for some reason, the amount it reduces a Pal’s Work Speed is rougher than the amount that Work Slave reduces their Attack. Regardless, it’s a great Skill to get fora Pal who will only ever be used in combat situations.

+15 percent Work Speed & +15 percent Attack.
Funnily enough, this next Skill was sort of the in-game ‘hint’ players could get early to let them know that a Legendary Pal’s Legend Passive could be passed down. Normally, the Lucky Skill is only found on Rare Pals (the sparkingly onesthat are bigger than average), as they’re literally a lucky find. However, if players happen to find one of these Pals early and then assign said Pal to a Breeding Farm, they’d find out that this can be passed down.
Though to be fair, the Lucky Skill isn’t the best overall, as buffing both Attack and Work Speed is a bit unnecessary, but it’s still one of the best ones to get in the game.

10 percent increase to player’s Defense.
This next Skill is one that a lot of players are misunderstanding. There are a couple of Passive Skills inPalworld, like Stronghold Strategist, that say they buff the player in different ways. However, due to the vague phrasing of these Skills, a lot of players assume this buff only applies while the Pal with the Skill is actively summoned. However, this is not true, as a Pal with Stronghold Strategistwill buff the player’s Defenseby 10 percent regardless of whether they’re summoned or not. Absolutely one of the weaker inclusions on this list, but still a great add for any player struggling to survive some of the tougher fights inPalworld.
Work Speed +20 percent.
And for another Work Speed-related Skill, let’s look at Serious. There’s not a ton to say about this one, as it’s a very basic buff of +20 percent to Work Speed. However, it should be reiterated that stat buffing Passives can stack, so try to get the Serious Skill on a Pal who also has Passive Skills like Artisan or Work Slave.
Attack +15 percent & Work Speed -10 percent.
And last up, let’s cap things off with another pretty basic Passive Skill, Hooligan. This one is basically a work version of the Lucky Passive Skill, as it actually decreases Work Speed instead of increasing it while also giving the same bonus to Attack that Lucky would.
However, as it was mentioned in the Lucky entry, there’s no real need to have a Pal with high Work Speed and high Attack. Pals with high Work Speed should stay at the base to work and Pals with high Attack should be out in the field fighting other Pals. Because of this, the Hooligan Skill is actually better than it first appears as players don’t really need to ‘care’ about that Work Speed debuff if they’re putting it ona Pal they plan to use in a gunfight.
