So far, the petition has amassed over 4,700 signatures at the time of this writing, nearing the 5,000 signature milestone that will help extend its reach even further.
The petition itself talks about howThe Witchercreator Andrzej Sapkowski has praisedCavill as Geralt, going as far as to compare his portrayal to Viggo Mortensen’s as Aragorn inThe Lord of the Ringsfilm franchise. The petition mentions recent accusations that writers onThe Witchershow have “mocked” the source material, claiming that it is the reason why Cavill has decided to leave the Netflix series. However, it should be pointed out that a clear reason for Cavill’s departure hasn’t actually been made public.
