ThePokemonseries is home to many exciting and visually stunning creatures. Perhaps one of the most impressive designs belongs to Gyarados,a Water/Flying-type Pokemon. First introduced in Gen 1, it features a distinct aquatic appearance blended with various serpentine elements. Recently, one fan decided to make an impressive piece of fan art based on a card featuring this Pokemon.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as heyzeushey shared artwork they completed based on thePokemonseries. Specifically, they had managed to make a 3D version of a Dark Gyarados card. The Reddit user showed off the design in a short video, and the results were nothing short of impressive. In addition to replicating the minute details ofthe Pokemon Trading Card, they added a layer of depth not seen before in the design.

Besides showing off the incredible card in a video, heyzeushey provided some details behind the creation process. According to the creator, they used FedEx to print the glossy card stock paper for the project. They then relied on Loctite Ultragel Super Glue to hold the different layers of the card together. In addition, they revealed that double-sided foam tape was needed to keep some of the larger elements of the design in place.
While this 3D Dark Gyarados card was impressive, it was far from the only custom 3D card made by heyzeushey. For those interested in seeing more, the creator has shared multiple 3D designs on Reddit. Some examples of otherPokemonfeatured in cards made by the creator include Shuckle and Sableye. Each of these cards had a similar level of craftsmanship compared to that seen with the 3D Dark Gyarados card.
Since posting this impressive 3D Dark Gyarados card on Reddit, manymembers of thePokemoncommunityhave taken notice. With over 9,300 upvotes in only a day, many enjoyed the level of detail the artist put into the creation. Among the comments, praise was directed at how the creator managed to make the card have a 3D perspective. “For a second I thought that this was some sort of optical illusion. Great work,” Justice202051 said on Reddit. In addition, many liked the artwork so much that they wanted a copy of 3D Dark Gyarados for themselves.
It is often exciting to see the incredible level of talent displayed by passionate members of thePokemoncommunity. While this 3D Dark Gyarados card is impressive, it is far from the only creation made by fans over the last couple of weeks. For example, another gamer recently shared a picture of a life-size version ofBulbasaur made using LEGO bricks. It will be interesting to see what other fan art is shared with the community in the coming days. Maybe heyzeushey will decide to create even more 3D cards based on the numerous Pokemon in the franchise.
