Recently, onePokemonfan shows off their incredible painting of the Kanto region. While a lot ofPokemonfans are currently getting hyped for the upcoming release ofPokemon ScarletandViolet, and the new Paldea region that comes along with it, there are also plenty of gamers who fondly reminisce about the franchise’s older days, looking back with nostalgia at some of the earlier regions. Whether it be the Sinnoh region which has recently had itshistory expanded upon inPokemon Legends: Arceus, or the Hoenn region that brought about some big changes to the games, eachPokemonregion has its charms.

Out of all the regions to explore, manyPokemonfans are still attached to the Kanto region, which is where the franchise began. Kanto is the setting forPokemon’sfirst generation, where fans begin their journey in Pallet Town, pick up their first starter out of Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, and meet the rival who will continue to test them throughout their adventure. The Gen 1Pokemongames also mark many fans' introduction to the franchise, giving further meaning to the classic titles.

OnePokemonfan known as GenelJumalon over on Reddit has recently posted their own tribute to the Kanto region. To mark their appreciation of the setting, they painted an incredible scene, which shows off a Pokemon trainer beginning a long walk through a grassy landscape. Fans praised GenelJumalon’s work in the comments of the Reddit post, with some even stating they thought the painting was a loading screen forPokemon GO. Others remarked on the spots that can be seen on Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, saying that they reminded them of the clone Pokemon that Mewtwo creates in theoriginalPokemonmovie.
