The game received mixed reviews, but there were some critics who were impressed by its horror trappings. Now LKA is looking ahead to its next project, a horror game calledMartha is Deadthat is aiming for photorealistic graphics when it launches for PC and PlayStation 5.
The developers of theMartha is Deadhorror gamerecently spoke to GamesRadar, revealing their ambitious goals for the project. “PS5’s specifications are incredibly exciting - particularly for us is the additional graphical power and inclusion of ray-tracing architecture,” said LKA boss Luca Dalco. Dalco has said thatMartha is Deadwill also make “great strides in gameplay” as well, so it will be a next-generation horror game in more ways than just its photorealism.

The PS5 and its ray-tracing technology will enable LKA to achieve photorealistic graphics withMartha is Dead. However, there are other aspects of the PS5 hardware that should helpMartha is Deadbecome an even more compelling experience than it would be on current-gen technology. Dalco has pointed to thePS5’s SSDas another thing that will giveMartha is Deada boost, as it will enable faster load times and allow LKA to create a “more expansive” game world than it was able to do inThe Town of Light.
For horror fans that have yet to hear aboutMartha is Dead, the game is a first-person horror game that has players explore 1944 Tuscany, Italy. LikeThe Town of Light,Martha is Deadwill use psychological horror to scare players, having them experience disturbing events during World War II. In the game, players are the “young daughter of a German soldier,” whose twin, presumably the titular Martha, is found dead. Martha has apparently drowned and her body has been “desecrated,” and players will have to deal with the fallout of that event along with “mysterious folklore” and “the extreme horror of war.”
As far as horror games go,Martha is Deadsounds like it could be interesting, and it will be exciting to see how far the developers are able to push the PS5’s technology. However, it’s unclear exactly whenMartha is Deadwill be available for the PS5. It’s possible that the game will be aPS5 launch title, or maybe fans will have to wait until some time after launch or even next year to get their hands on it.
