2018 saw the release of a few incredible games. One of the biggest and most anticipated titles was the long-awaited sequel toRed Dead Redemption,Red Dead Redemption 2. Like its predecessor,Red Dead Redemption 2received critical acclaim at the time of its release, and while it didn’t win as many Game Of The Year awards, it still earned a solid fanbase.
Since the game was released, it sadly hasn’t had the same support as Rockstar Games' previous major title,Grand Theft Auto 5. WhereasGTA 5’s online content has been steady since its 2013 release,Red Dead Redemption 2’s online has lacked the same support. In fact, the developer confirmed that support for theRed Dead Redemption 2’s online content will start to wind downthroughout the rest of the year. What is abundantly clear, however, is that the fans still support the game in their own way.

In a recent post, Reddit user RedRonnie shared a rather cool barrel on theRed Dead Redemption 2page. The barrel in question was covered inRed Dead Redemption 2stickers with a lantern, a pistol, and several other Old West supplies on top of it. Inside the barrel is a set of mugs with several bottles of liquor below it. It could be that at some point RedRonnie may end up recreatingRed Dead Redemption 2’s hilarious drunk Lenny scene.
Since the game was released fans have created their own tributes toRed Dead Redemption 2similar to RedRonnie’s barrel. One, for example, made their own version of thecigarette card collection found in theRed Deadgame. Tributes like these have even found their way into the koozie industry.
Earlier this month someone discovered a Texas koozie with a set of cowboys on it. The coloring and placement of the cowboys made it clear that the inspiration for thekoozie came fromRed Dead Redemption. However, despite these kinds of tributes, it could be that this particular game franchise might be going the way of the film western.
Despite the dedication of fans like RedRonnie, theRed Dead Redemptionfranchise is clearly not as big of a priority for Rockstar asGrand Theft Auto. Reports have indicated that the company isn’t adding anynew patches for theRed Dead Redemption 2’sPlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions. In addition, reports have also been circulating that planned remasters for the first game as well asGrand Theft Auto 4had been scrapped in favor of the upcomingGTAinstallment. What is clear, however, is thatRed Dead Redemption 2’s fanbase remains even if Rockstar is seemingly moving away from it. Only time will if the developers will do anything more with the open-world western game.
Red Dead Redempton 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
