Hi-Rez Studios' multiplayer hero-shooterRogue Companymay not have quite the same brand recognition of similar games like Blizzard Entertainment’sOverwatchor Valve’sCounter-Strike: GO, but it has continually added new content during its closed beta and after itsofficial free-to-play launch this month. However, one thing it now has over its competition is a crossover with streamer Guy Beahm — popularly known as Dr Disrespect, including a brand-new map and a unique character skin.
The Internet personality partnered withRogue Companythis August in a marketing scheme that hadDr Disrespect design a map called The Arena, which was “noticed” by the developers and greenlit to be turned into an actual locale.Rogue Companyuploaded a video to its YouTube channel today showcasing what Beahm describes on Twitter as a “$500m facility,” plastered with paraphernalia, logos, and drenched in the light of a stormy, red sky.

There are numerous areas to explore in The Arena, available to play as of an update today, including an arcade, exercise room, and an outdoor platform with a massive gold statue of Dr Disrespect. It was “designed for champions,” according toRogue Company’s blog post outlining today’s update, and releases alongside a limited-time mode with Demolition, Strikeout, and Extraction matches that can reward special titles and banners.
A skin for Dallas based on the Dr Disrespect character is also currently available inRogue Company’s store. However, there’s more to the update than this crossover, including the introduction of a “Player Identity” system for users to customize their profiles, the addition of a special spray for those who played the alpha or closed beta, and typical gameplay tweaks as well as bug fixes. This is the game’s first update since the end of itsclosed beta, which introduced maps likeRogue Company’s Vice.
Receiving an entirely dedicated new map is certainly an interesting milestone in the streamer’s career, but it’s just one part of the ongoing plans that Hi-Rez Studios have forRogue Company’s development. ARogue Companycontent roadmap released in Augustsuggests the Player Identity feature is part of the game’s “Phase 1” of updates, with additions like a Battle Pass on the way sometime in the future.
Rogue Companyis free-to-play for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
