The world of Roguelite games has changed dramatically over the years, from simple shoot-em-ups likeEnter the Gungeontobeautiful works of art likeHades, which lets players enjoy a complex storyline while keeping classic Roguelite features. While most Roguelites follow a similar theme in terms of gameplay, some bring a whole new experience to the gaming community. One such title that brought a whole new meaning to Roguelite isRogue Legacy 2, which uses a unique family dynasty mechanic that lets players control a new family member each time they die.

Boss fights are another fun featureRogue Legacy 2brought to the series, making the game more challenging. One particular boss that often leaves players scratching their heads is Estuary Naamah since she can dish out massive AOE damage in a large radius. Fortunately, players can overcome The Keeper of the Forest by learning what moves to use on her and how to avoid her unusual attacks.

How to Prepare for the Estuary Naamah Boss Fight in Rogue Legacy 2

Before players can fight Estuary Naamah, they’ll first need to obtain two Lilies of the Valley Relics, which are scattered throughout the Kerguelen Plateau map in random locations. Once players obtain these Relics, the boss door to her fight will open and can be located in the center of the Kerguelen.

Players will also want to have the"Matters in Red" Insight, which is found in the top-right corner of the Kerguelen Plateau’s entrance. This Insight will grant the player a permanent (even in New Game+) 15% damage buff toward Estuary Naamah. Finally, players will want to have the IIB Muscle Fibers trait since it allows players to jump higher, which is essential for this boss fight.

Phase One of the Estuary Naamah Boss Fight in Rogue Legacy 2

Estuary Naamah will have five different projectile attacks and one melee attack throughout both phases of the fight, but players can counter all of the projectile attacks with a well-timed Spell. As for the melee attack, Estuary Naamah will charge toward the player dealing melee damage, and then release several fireballs, which can be dodged or destroyed.

One of her projectile attacks will summon a wall of blossoms that travels from the top to the bottom or left to right of the screen. Players can destroy the projectiles of this attack, but, due to their speed, it’s best to avoid them with the help ofClownanthropy and IIB Muscle Fibers. Estuary Naamah will also summon two homing projectiles, but players can only destroy these projectiles with a skill like Spin Kick.

Once her HP reaches 50%, she’ll shift into phase two like every other boss inRogue Legacy 2.

Phase Two of the Estuary Naamah Boss Fight in Rogue Legacy 2

Once Estuary Naamah’s HP reaches 50%, she’ll summon three Nightmares, which are orb-like creatures. While the Nightmares aren’t too much of a threat, they’ll repeatedly attempt to push the player around, which can cause a player to hit one of Estuary Naamah’s projectiles. Fortunately, players can calm Nightmares for a few seconds (undoubtedly one of the best things aboutRogue Legacy 2), giving players a few seconds to land some hits on the boss.

The best Spells to use during her second phase are Wind Wall and Freeze Strike since they can destroy incoming projectiles, giving the player some time to calm a Nightmare. Alternatively, players can use certain Talents like Bastion or Deflect, but using Talents for this boss can be risky as they have to be timed perfectly. In terms of Classes, the Valkyrie class is best suited to fight Estuary Naamah since it can attack while moving and has the passive “Battleborn,” which increases Magic Critical Chance and Damage by 5% - 10%.

Once defeated, Estuary Naamah will drop a significant amount of upgrade materials which will be helpful for other Estuary boss fights.
