If this is the case, Insomniac should borrow a key feature from the super popularGTA 5to make exploring the world more interesting.
GTA 5has become one of the most successful games of all time, and while the online game mode is what gave the game its longevity, the single-player mode introduced a unique feature that allowed players to quickly switch between the three main characters. This feature could be adopted by the upcomingSpider-Mangame to allow players to switch between Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Venom as they battle through New York and attempt to defeat Kraven The Hunter. While Venom has not been confirmed as a playable character, there have been otherSpider-Mangames,likeUltimate Spider-Man, that gave the players control of Venom.

Spider-Man and Venom
Though Venom is an enemy of Spider-Man, there have been numerous instances in the comics and games where the symbiote has helped the Spider take out some of his greatest foes. This fact alone could mean that Venom will play a more vital role in the upcomingSpider-Man game than just another villain for Peter and Miles to take out. Instead, Venom could feature as one of three playable characters, with gamers wandering around New York City as the symbiote hunts down Kraven The Hunter.
If this is the case, then adopting a quick switch option for players would be the way to go, as it would not only give players the ability to control whichever character they wanted, but it could also be used well in combat. InGTA 5, when players switch characters, their screen slows down, ensuring that they are not caught off guard once the switch is complete.This would work great in the Spider-Man battles, as the dodge and quick attack strategy the game employs would allow for this switching, plus the power of the PS5 would undoubtedly make this switch instantaneous.
Venom’s Powers and Abilities
Unlike Peter and Miles, both of whom acquired their powers through a spider bite, Venom’s powers comes directly from the symbiote controlling the person. These powers include super strength, shapeshifting abilities, and most of Spider-Man’s powers following the instances when the symbiote attached itself to him. However, withthe upcomingSpider-Mangame set to introduce Venom into a new universe, it stands to reason that Spider-Man has never come in contact with the dangerous symbiote before.
This means that Venom may not have the same web slinging powers as he does in the comics since he has never taken control of Spider-Man. So, his traversal system could be closer to characters like the Hulk who use their strength to get around by jumping from building-to-building. This does not take away his other powers, and introducing him into the game could mean that at some point, either Peter or Miles will be invaded by the Venom symbiote,allowing Venom’s standalone character to gain the powers of Spider-Man.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2has quickly grown into the most anticipated Marvel video game project in recent memory, partly due to the success of the previous games, and also due to the boost it has gotten from the MCU. The reveal trailer saw Venom accepting Kraven’s request for a good hunt, which has many fans wondering whether Venom will be a playable character that fights alongside the Spider-Men.
