Spider-Man: No Way Homestars Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon are best friends both on and off-screen. To prove their chemistry, the two decided to take a fun test while being strapped to a lie detector and hoped that they would still remain friends after. Sony Pictures shared a video of the test while promoting the record-breaking film.

Batalon plays an integral role inSpider-Man: No Way Hometo help Holland and the two other Spider-Men, played byTobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, in their mission to stop the Sinister Six from destroying their universe. He has been by Peter Parker’s side from the beginning of Holland’s trilogy, even before discovering his secret identity. A lot of importance is placed on their friendship in the films, and the actors were ready to prove it in the real world.

Holland and Batalon start off with simple questions, like their names, birthdays, and whether Batalon is originally from Hawaii. To ensure that the lie detector is working,Holland lies about his birthday, and a large “False” immediately shows up to confirm that he is lying. The actor’s date of birth is in fact June 1. After they get comfortable with the detector the questions become trickier.

Holland is terrified when he has to answer Batalon’s question, “In a life or death situation, would you take a bullet for me?” But, he has nothing to worry about, because his answer is “True.” The sweetest moment in the video is when Batalon confirms that Holland is in fact his best friend, and the lie detector has no issues with the response. The two share a hug and Batalon refers to Holland as “my boy and brother.”

The duo save the best question for last. The video was obviously shot prior to the release of the film, as the actors have appeared in the same location, and attire, in previous promotional videos. But, the response to the last question could not have been shared before the film hit theaters. The actors have to ask each other if there are “anyother Spider-Men inSpider-Man: No Way Home.” The both of them obviously answer, “no,” which as fans already know is a lie. Batalon jokes that they would have to wait till the film was released to reveal this video clip. And that was Sony’s plan all along.
