Those who are enjoyingStar WarsDisney Plus seriesThe Book of Boba Fettmight have some more content from the same universe in the not-too-distant future. A new leak indicates that one of the next upcoming Disney Plus series,Star Wars: Ahsoka, could start filming by the end of January.
Disney Plus has gone all-in onStar Warslive-action content over the last few years, first withThe Mandalorianand thenThe Book of Boba Fett. The next series that could be hitting the streaming service relatively soon isAhsoka, though there are some complications and questions surrounding the series and when it might actually air.

Nailing down exactly when the series centering around the character first introduced toStar Warsfans in theClone Warswill premiere becomes even more difficult because of the coronavirus pandemic. A report circulating on Reddit from Production Weekly claims thattheAhsokaseriesis going to be going into production later this month. While Production Weekly is usually considered by those in the fan base to be pretty reliable on this kind of information, there are some who wonder whether the schedule might change because of the rise of the Omicron variant.
The same report from Production Weekly said that whileproduction onAhsokacould be aheadof what people thought was the schedule, there’s another series that’s just about wrapped season 3. The report says thatThe Mandalorianis almost done with its shooting and that could mean that the show featuring the Beskar armor-wielding bounty hunter will be back before the end of 2022. Everything in this new report is hard to confirm because Lucasfilm tends to keep these kinds of details under wraps until it is ready to make an official announcement.
At this time, Disney and Lucasfilm have not announced any premiere dates for any of the upcomingStar Warsshows. The studio tends not to announce when a show is going into production or started shooting precisely because it likely doesn’t want fanswondering whyAhsokaisn’t hitting the airwavessooner, should there be some kind of delay that’s beyond the company’s control.
Until there’s an official announcement,Star Warsfans will have to be content knowing thatAhsoka,starring Rosario Dawson as the titular character, is coming at some point in the near future.The Mandalorianseason 3 is also coming to Disney Plus relatively soon, though it also hasn’t been given an official release date. For now, fans of the franchise know they have three more episodes ofThe Book of Boba Fettto keep them entertained.
