During the adventure, viewers learn about the battle fought over many millennia between the Jedi order and the evil Sith lords. Initially only getting to see two Sith lords that are still active, fans were told that the Jedi order had all been wiped out. However, throughout the franchise, audiences meet several. The Jedi have a reputation for keen wisdom, but some live up to it more than others.

8Anakin Skywalker

Lowest on the list, Anakin Skywalker was the boy who was fated to become the evil Darth Vader as a man. Raised in slavery by his mother Shmi, Anakin began Jedi training under Obi-Wan Kenobi after the passing of Qui-Gon Jinn.

Headstrong and ambitious, young Skywalker became one of the best battlefield tacticians and revered Generals of the Clone Wars. Had Anakin thought more with his brain than his emotions, he may well have been ranked much higher on the list.Ultimately, his emotion-based actions led to his fall to the dark side, as well as Anakin’s downfall from the Jedi order.

7Mace Windu

Second in command of the Jedi council after Master Yoda, Mace Windu was a Jedi held in high regard among the Masters and students of the order. Mace was prominent in the clone wars and a tactician on and off the battlefield.

Mace had a high-level intellect, mastered several complex force abilities, and even developed his lightsaber form named Vaapad. He was a thoughtful and well-spoken Jedi. The flip side to this was his overconfidence in his abilities, which could lead to arrogance and a quick temper.

6Leia Organa/Skywalker/Solo

The princess who wed the scoundrel, Leia Organa of Alderaan is the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. Separated from her brother at birth to protect the children from their father, Leia was adopted and raised by Bail Organa and his wife on Alderaan.

Leia later married Han Solo, the smuggler and pilot of the millennium falcon, the two had a child, Ben, who grew to become the twisted Kylo Ren.Leia fought at the head of many resistance groups proving military prowess time and time again. Later, under the tutelage of her brother Luke, Leia would learn the ancient Jedi arts and on occasion surprise Luke with her strength.

5Count Dooku

Known as Darth Tyranus to very few, Count Dooku was once a proud noble Jedi from a wealthy background. After he fell to the dark side,Dooku trained under Darth Sidiousas the Sith Lords' replacement apprentice after Darth Maul was defeated.

Trained in the Jedi arts directly by Master Yoda himself, Dooku took a young Qui-Gon Jinn as his Padawan. Dooku knew how to use his charm and intellect to get entire star systems to join the galactic empire in the war against the republic. He also took on notorious students such as General Grievous and Asajj Ventress during the clone wars.

4Luke Skywalker

The protagonist of the original trilogy learned from the best Jedi masters left from the era of the republic, Master Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Luke took the training on at a very late age and succeeded where even his father failed.

After toppling the galactic empire by destroying the Death Star, Luke went on to rebuild the Jedi order. He taught a whole new generation of students including his nephew Ben Solo and his sister Leia Organa the ways of the force. He was so powerful near the end of his life that he could send his entire essence across the galaxy to fight Kylo Ren. Despite being so advanced in years,Luke pulled off a feat many Jedi in their prime could notwith this move.

3Obi-Wan Kenobi

Headstrong and confident as a padawan to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi grew to become one of the most famous Jedi of all time. Wise and celebrated general in the clone wars, Obi-Wan was tasked to train young Anakin Skywalker with his Master’s dying wish.

Obi-Wan failed Anakin and acted as more of a brother than the father figure Anakin desperately needed. Going into hiding following Order 66,Kenobi remained hidden on Tatooine watching over young Luke. Once the time was ready, Obi-Wan would ignite the spark in Luke leading to the end of the galactic empire.

2Qui-Gon Jinn

Qui-Gon was the Master of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Before his untimely death at the hands of Darth Maul, he was ready to take on Anakin as his next student. He was well-versed in many prophecies of the force and a true believer in the prophecy of the chosen one. Qui-Gon learned an advanced technique to communicate with those who had become one with the force.

Refusing a seat at the Jedi council due to his preference to follow his own path, Qui-Gon was wise and extremely well-trained under the tutelage of Count Dooku as a youngling. Believing in the prophecy so much was perhaps not just a great strength, as his mind was open to possibilities other council members refused to believe, but also his biggest flaw which ultimately lead to his death at the hands of Maul.

1Yoda

The clear answer for the smartest Jedi of them all is Master Yoda. This mysterious but beloved character comes froma species about which very little is known, and has survived through many eras, stretching back to the High Republic. Master Yoda taught countless generations of Jedi and sat on the council during the days of the republic.

Wise in his teachings while filling them with half riddles, Yoda managed to evade Order 66 and live out the rest of his days on the planet Dagobah. Training Luke Skywalker in the ways of the force at a volatile time in his life as well as going through health deterioration due to age, Yoda truly was filled with almost as much knowledge and wisdom as the Jedi Archives themselves.
