Summary
AStarfieldplayer has recently found a pretty odd knife, which comes with a hilarious perk that may not suit it very well. Gamers are always on the lookout for thebest weapons inStarfieldwhen looting enemies’ corpses, and this knife may not be very powerful, but it’s certainly amusing.
Released with critical acclaim and positive reviews,Starfieldis one of the biggest games of 2023. Part of why the title is so popular is due to its sprawling open world, which uses procedural generation in some aspects, and loot is one of them, as it is often generated on the spot. Curiously, the randomized loot can sometimes create some weirdly unique items that a human designer would never think of.
AStarfieldgamer called Postpwnmalone has recently shared their latest discovery while playing the game: an Osmium Dagger with the Extended Magazine perk. At first glance, the weapon looks pretty simple, as it’s an Epic Melee weapon with a Physical power of 28 and 2.70 Mass, being valued at 3529 credits. However, the weird twist is the “Extended Magazine” perk, which doubles the base magazine capacity of the knife, essentially not doing anything at all, as knives don’t use ammunition.
Postpwnmalone’s post was pretty popular on r/Starfield, achieving over 7,500 upvotes, a few laughs, and sparking a discussion about howStarfieldcould have better options for melee weapons. It’s no secret thatStarfieldcurrently lacks variety in melee weaponsthat are not blades, which is the main obstacle for players trying out this kind of build. Also, some gamers criticized the title’s lack of better melee mechanics and abilities, especially regarding the possibility of closing in on distant enemies while attacking melee.
While this knife was certainly nothing to be seriously used in a fight, some randomStarfieldweapons can be pretty amazing, though. For instance, a gamer found anincredibly powerful pistol inStarfieldlast month. The player, who also shared their discovery on social media, showed off their One Inch Punch Modified Calibrated Old Earth Pistol, which dealt 181 Physical damage and could fire 60 bullets per minute, as well as having four mod slots and three perks. Of these perks, the “Furious” one makes each hit deal more damage than the previous one, and the Rapid perk speeds up the bullets by up to 25%, which is a deadly combination, and makes this one of the best pistols in the game.
Starfieldis available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
