TheSteamSummer Saleis now live with steep discounts across a wide range of genres and franchises. The annual sale has earned a reputation for its particularly generous offerings and, along withSteam’s Winter Sale, is one of the biggest sales events of the year for PC gamers.
One thing Steam is well known for is the various sales events it hosts which celebrate various franchises, genres, developers, and seasons. While it generally hosts sales on a weekly basis that cover a specific range of games such asthe recentWarhammerSKULLS sale, its annual seasonal sales cover a lot of ground and tend to have something for everyone. These larger seasonal sales also tend to include some sort of mini-game or event in which gamers can participate to earn various prizes such as profile badges, avatars, and profile backgrounds. Points earned through purchases can also be used to unlock limited-time customizations and even chat emotes.

An incredible number of games are enjoying steep discounts during this sale, including acclaimed hits likeThe Witcher 3at 80% off andRed Dead Redemption 2at 50% off. The sale is not limited to older titles, however, as recent arrivals to Steam are also offered at rarediscounts includingTiny TIna’s WonderlandsandFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradewhich are 20% and 29% off respectively. Many of the retail platform’s top-selling games are available at lower prices such asMonster Hunter Rise,V Rising, andSea of Thieves. The sale also includes “Under $10” and “Up to 75% Off” categories allowing gamers to discover the best deals.
In the tradition ofSteam’s interesting seasonal events, this sale is also accompanied by a scavenger hunt event featuring Clorthax, a time-traveling trickster. Clicking the “Free Fun This Way” button on Steam’s front page leads to the introduction to the scavenger hunt in which Clorthax has hidden 10 games throughout the store. A hint for the first game is provided and clicking on the clue will conveniently direct players to the relevant category on Steam where the game in question can be found. Once found, the clue for the next game will become available. Various rewards such as profile avatars and a profile badge are rewarded for each discovery.
Gamers have a few weeks to find all 10 of the scavenger hunt titles and pick up a few games from their wishlists before it’s all over. In case gamers miss out on this sale,the Steam Winter Salelater this year will likely offer many of the same discounts.
