Some have accumulated sprawling familias with powerful adventurers while others make do with smaller, tight-knit familias. The strength and number of these familias are a reflection of the gods' strength, though some gods stand as an exception to this rule.
With Season 5 of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon now airing, the rankings among Orario’s gods and goddesses have shifted. This list has been updated with a few more entries to reflect the current status of the strongest Gods in Orario.
Mythology
Hinduism
Ganesha is a hardy and mighty god with a loud and rambunctious attitude who dons the mask ofa tusked pig. Quite often, he acts carefree, and a bit self-absorbed, but has a strong reputation among his fellow deities. Ganesha constantly shouts his name to announce his arrival or to just say his name in general, so others will rejoice.
While he can be a bit air-headed at times, Ganesha can take a more serious attitude to protecting his Familia and innocent lives. He is the leader of one of the largest Familia in Orario, which gives him significant influence. There aren’t many gods willing to cross him, but Ganesha’s peaceful persona makes him a friend to all.
Greek
Apollo is the makeshift father to the members of his Familia. While his outer exterior is kind and gentle, he is actually quite perverse and pig-headed. He presents obsessive personality traits when something or, more likely, someone catches his interest, resulting in back-handed tactics to get what he wants.
Despite his faults, Apollo is still a God and the leader of one of the most prominent Familia in Orario. Apollo doesn’t hold much power, but he can be a dangerous foe if crossed. He is often praised for his intellect and tactical prowess, which is only matched by his arrogance.
Mesopotamian
Ishtar is a fertility goddess and owner of the pleasure district in Orario. She maintained a tight grasp on a large portion of the profit in Orario, which granted her great influence and strength over other gods. The only rival Ishtar had was the goddess Freya, who she constantly attempted to dethrone, even going so far as to kidnap Bell Cranel to weaken her position.
Unfortunately for Ishtar, she was defeated by Freya, and Bell was freed. However, Ishtar’s Familia was composed of mighty warriors, some of the strongest in Orario, and their loyalty to Ishtar shone a light on her own strength.
Ares is a special case when it comes to the Gods inDanMachi. While he is highly revered by the mortals who worship him and the members of his Familia, Ares has an unfortunate reputation among his fellow gods. As the personification of combat,Ares is the god of warand loves to wage war against kingdoms at random.
Unfortunately, Ares makes Orario the target of his obsession on multiple occasions and declares war on the kingdom, which he swiftly loses each time. This has led to Ares being described as a meathead who is more Brawn than brains most of the time.
Artemis was a strict and dedicated leader who cared for her Familia more than most gods. Unfortunately, Artemis was discouraged by love and forbade her Familia members to indulge in romance.
While she has a very intense outer persona, Artemis is a kind and light-hearted god who does not fear standing up for her Familia against all odds. Artemis is highly respected among her fellow gods, even receiving praise from Freya. Artemis possessed the Aracnum, the most powerful arrow in heaven capable of cataclysmic destruction.
Hestia is a beloved goddess in Orario but also possesses one of the smallest Familia in the kingdom. Hestia is a charismatic young god but can also be stubborn, hot-headed, and clumsy, which lands her in trouble and debt the majority of the time.
Hestia does not excel in combat and has no shining physical attributes. In addition, Hestia does not fare well against intellectual gods such as Freya or Loki. However, Hestia can be crafty and puts her full faith in Bell to lead the way to victory when the chips are down.
Known as the goddess of smithing, Hephaestus is Orario’s finest blacksmith. Her blades are renowned beyond the Labyrinth city itself, and any blade that bears the Hephaestus Familia’s insignia is deemed a coveted and highly sought-after weapon. While Hephaestus’ expertise in smithing and weapon-making deems her a powerful god, her overall influence is still much weaker compared to other gods and goddesses.
Despite her role as a mere blacksmith in DanMachi, Hephaestus has played a significant part in driving the narrative forward. From smithing the famed Hestia Blade to even lending her children to Hestia’s familia, Hephaestus has remained by Bell and Hestia’s side till the very end.
Hermes is a very aloof god, withdrawn from the frontline politics and squabbles of his deity brethren. However, behind the scenes, Hermes is a crafty scoundrel who has his fingers in many pies of mischief in the city of Orario.
While Hermes comes off as helpful, he never does anything that doesn’t increase his standing or strengthen his advantage. All gods are aware of Hermes' real personality and are careful to hold their cards close to their chest when dealing with him, making him a major threat who is not to be taken lightly.
Norse
Loki is the leader of the second most powerful Familia in Orario.She is a brilliant tacticianand confident leader. While Loki does not have much experience in the combat department, she is an expert in countering any plots against her simply by using her intellect as a weapon.
Loki is the only partner that Freya and her Familia acknowledge as equals. The Loki Familia is praised as the most powerful Familia in the city and stands on equal ground as the Freya Familia, with the two often keeping each other in check. Loki’s only downfall is her drinking, which always lands her in trouble or leads to her being taken advantage of.
Known as the primordial god, Ouranos was the first god to descend from the heavens and live among humans. He was the pioneer of the current familia system inDanMachi, as he was the very first god to grant his followers Falna. As the primordial god and the founder of the Guild, Ouranos is arguably one of the strongest gods inDanMachi.
Since Ouranos looks over Orario from his altar, his strength has never been witnessed in action. However, the tales of his power and his status as the overseer of godhood on Orario testify to his godly power. Ouranos lives up to his real-world mythology, as he is based on Uranus, the primordial god of the sky who fathered hundreds of divine entities.
