ThoughRusthas been around since 2013, the game just started gaining steam this winter thanks to some of the most popular Twitch streamers on the platform picking it up. There is, however at least one very popular influencer who has so far, resisted theRustsiren call. Summit1g recently detailed why he’s not all that interested in playing the game, at least on the OfflineTV server.

Some of Twitch’s most viewed content producers, including xQc, Shroud, Pokimane, andSodapoppin, played on the OfflineTV serverat one time or another in the last few months. Those users have helped the game routinely reach the top of the Twitch charts. They often combined for much more than one million viewers this winter alone. However, not all of the platform’s biggest stars are fans of the game, no matter how much their followers would like to see them partake.

Now that the server has been split into two, more people than ever are playingRuston the regular. One of Summit1g’s fans wondered during a recent stream why he isn’t getting more involved in the game. The fan said they felt as thoughRustwas right up Summit’s alley. While he’s been quiet about why he doesn’t play it often up until now, he made it clear during the stream that he just doesn’t think he’s good enough at it.

“I’m like a mediocre player. If I grabbed some guys that were good like Coconut and that and chilled with them, it would probably be a good time,” Summit replied. He added that even though he thinks he could become good enough to have plenty of fun onRust, he’s been paying more attention to another title that has a similar feel. Summit said he’s been spending quite a bit of time withEscape From Tarkovlately and he doesn’t see himself moving off from that anytime soon.

The streamer added that he doesn’t have anything againstRust. In fact, he said that if the OfflineTV server had come around before he got really intoEscape From Tarkov, he’d likely be muchmore interested inRust. However, he said he’s very, very deep intoEFTand doesn’t see that changing in the near future. He even allowed for the chance that once he does finally tire ofTarkov, he might giveRustone more chance to really grab his attention.

After the stream, Summit took to Twitter to underline his comments about not being good enough to get on the server. He added that really goodRustplayers are similar toCS:GOpros, in that you have to dedicate a ton of time to the game to stand a chance against them.

Rustis available now for PC, with aPS4 and Xbox One release planned for 2021.
