The Last of Us 2fans have shown their love for the franchise in many different ways, with fan art often being the most common way to display appreciation for the series. However, oneThe Last of Us 2fan has done something a bit different, as they usedGTA Online’s character creator to play as Ellie.
This is not the first time thatThe Last of Us 2fans have taken full advantage of a video game character creator. For example, one gamer managed tobring Abby toThe Sims 4, perfectly capturing the WLF member’s facial features and signature braided hair. WithGTA Online’s customization options being so in depth, many players have managed to transform their favorite characters into criminals fitting of the online sandbox.

Reddit user Broozyr is responsible for theLast of Us 2-themedGTA Onlinecreation, and there is a lot to appreciate about their version of Ellie. Ellie’s tied-back hairstyle is clearly represented, with the color matching very well. Her jeans are torn, making them look like they have been worn often - a fitting touch given the character’s need to survive during an apocalypse. She also wears a T-shirt and an overshirt, the same attire seen in the game.
While fans should be very familiar with the outfit, as it featured during some importantThe Last of Us 2scenes like Nora’s death, it is the detail on Ellie’s arm that really brings the character creation together. A crow tattoo covers her arm, and while the design is certainly different from Ellie’s moth and leaves, it captures the overall concept of a large tattoo. Aside from the homage to Ellie’s tattoo, the beloved survivor wears some bracelets - including one that is of particular importance.
InThe Last of Us 2,Ellie and Dinawear matching bracelets, a subtle but meaningful detail that highlights their relationship. While it is impossible to have the exact same bracelet inGTA Online, the studded brown wristband is an excellent stand-in. With all these details, it is easy to recognize that this created character is meant to be Ellie. The fan also provided a back shot of their Ellie design and given that the game she comes from has a third person perspective, the image looks perfect. From the back, Ellie looks the exact same as she does inThe Last of Us 2, with the shirt, hair, and gun in her hand matching perfectly.
While it remains to be seen if Broozyr will create otherThe Last of Uscharacters like Joelinside ofGTA Online, they did a fabulous job with Ellie. Considering that their post has over 1,400 upvotes, many gamers seem to agree that they made good use of the character creator.
