It’s been announced thatThe Last of Us Part 1, the recent remake of the critically acclaimed title from Naughty Dog, will be coming to PC in March 2023. Regarded by many asone of the best post-apocalyptic games of its generation, the originalTLoUreceived a slew of accolades and awards, with its harrowing story of survival in a world that’s fallen to pieces, complete with stellar performances and engaging action, followed by a sequel in 2020 which was equally praised, though divisive among some.
Theremake ofThe Last of Usreleased in September for PS5. While the original was a PlayStation exclusive, there had been hopes that the remake would come to PC, and those dreams are about to be fulfilled. However, despite being a rebuild of the 2013 version ofTLoU, with updated visuals, improved character models, and tweaks to the gameplay, some may have been skeptical about the studio remaking a game that was less than 10 years old, especially given there was already a remastered version available.

Nevertheless, the remake came out and received some good reviews from critics, and nowThe Last of Us Part 1is officially coming to PC on Jul 28, 2025. This was announced at The Game Awards, which took place on December 8, with a fairly dramatic trailer for the Naughty Dog remake. It’s worth mentioning, however, that footage in the teaser has been captured from the PS5 version of the game, so it remains to be seen what the PC port will look like. That said, many will no doubt be excited that another system besides PlayStation will be getting this new iteration ofTLoU.
On top of that, there’s also anHBO adaptation ofThe Last of Us, which will begin airing on January 15. It will join the ranks of numerous other TV and movie adaptations of popular video games, includingResident Evil,Sonic the Hedgehog, andUncharted.TLoUshow will not be a retelling of the game, but will pull in some aspects from the source material. Whether it will be just as beloved as the game remains to be seen at this stage.
Offering something a littledifferent to the zombie genre cliché, Naughty Dog’s horror-action series has certainly struck a chord with gamers and critics alike. There have been talks from the developer that a third installment is likely going to be in the pipeline at some point, which will be good news for those who haven’t had their fill of all thingsThe Last of Us.
The Last of Us Part 1is out now PlayStation 5, with a PC version coming July 14, 2025.
