Once upon a time, in an enchanted world known asThe Sims 4, there was a challenge that allowed players to embark on a magical journey full of love and adventure. It was calledthe Disney Princess Challenge created by MissPlaying, where players could step into the shoes of beloved Disney movie characters and shape their lives in the game.
Players must embody one of the beautiful, strong-willed Disney princesses for ten generations of families and follow a handful of rules before moving on to the next. This challenge is perfect for both Disney-doting fans and devoted Sims players who are looking to add some magic toThe Sims 4and enjoy a happily-ever-after ending.
Generation One - Snow White
Naturally, the first generation of the Disney Princess Challenge begins with the first Disney princess: Snow White. For added realism, players may want to look into living in a secluded area ofThe Sims 4,such as thehidden world from Granite Fallsor the outskirts of Henford-On-Bagley. Each of the children will embody one of the seven dwarfs and receive at least one problematic trait.
Out of an abundance of caution, Snow White has ordered her children never to answer the door for strangers, especially old women offering snacks. It is very important to Snow White that her children achieve something before they move on to the next life stage. For example, the creator of this challenge recommends reaching level five in all toddler skills ormaxing out a character value.
Generation Two - Cinderella
As a child from an oversized household with six other siblings, Cinderella learned to define her worth by her service. She did all the cooking and cleaning for the family to earn praise and attention from her mother, Snow White. As she began to grow up, she discovered that she actually enjoyed doing chores and taking care of everyone, hence two of her traits:NeatandFoodie.
After her mother passes away, Cinderella is free tomove out of the householdand find her Prince Charming. This is when players should give Cinderella the magical makeover she deserves. These two lovebirds should have a maximum of three children before their chapter of this challenge closes.
Generation Three - Tiana
Princess Tiana adored her parents and the stories of her ancestors, but as a Sim with theAmbitious trait, she was frustrated at their lack of accomplishments. When her father, Prince Charming, unexpectedly passed away before Tiana reached adulthood, she took the initiative to set out and chase her dreams.
Tiana must first begin making a name for herself by achieving the Master Chef aspiration. She mustexcel in her culinary career, maximize her cooking skills, and demonstrate those skills by hosting dinner parties with extravagant dishes. Once she has finished her aspiration, she can move on to her dream ofrunning her own restaurant. To complete the generation and set the stones for the next, Tiana must marry a Sim with a hint of green (whether it be their skin, eyes, hair, or clothing style) and have at least one child with them.
Generation Four - Aurora
Her mother’s hard work allowed Aurora to have everything she wanted out of her life; however, there was always one thing missing - love. Sure, she had her three best friends who represent the fairies from the Disney movie, but she wanted something more. ThisLazy, hopelessRomanticSim deeply desired a romantic connection but was prevented from leaving the house because of her overprotective parents.
While her parents were sleeping one night, Auroraventured out into the real worldand she met her future spouse. They met in secret every night for several weeks before Aurora decided to run away and elope with her true love. This lovely couplemust have twin girlsfor the next generation.
Generation Five - Anna
Anna and Elsa were inseparable as infants and toddlers, but Elsa shut Anna out as soon as they became children and Anna never knew why. Anna tried to rediscover herself and live life without her twin sister. Unbeknownst to her, she fell in love and got engaged to aSim in the criminal career.
After a near-death experience at the hands of her fiancé, Elsa reappears tosave her sister from death. The two reconnect after many years of being apart and Elsa introduces Anna to someone new, someone much better than her toxic ex-fiancé. Finally, Anna will get the happy ending she desires. In this marriage, Anna may only have one child to begin the next Disney princess’s generation.
Generation Six - Rapunzel
With an anxious mother who distrusted the world, Rapunzel was bound to the confines of her family home. Rapunzel, a Sim with theLonerandArt Lovertraits, has a strict family dynamic with both of her parents. She has no friends because of rigid curfews enforced by her parents and is only permitted to leave for school. To pass the time, she learned to maximize creative skills like painting, knitting, and singing.
Inspired by her grandparent’s love story, Rapunzel sneaks out after curfew one night and never returns. Coincidentally (because this is a Disney story after all), Rapunzelfinds her soulmate and elopes with them. Together, they have at least one child to continue the challenge.
Generation Seven - Belle
The heir to this generation, Belle, decided that escapism in literature was the best way to experience life. Belle is aBookwormSim who always has her nose buried in a book. She dated at least five different people around town, but they never lived up to her unrealistic expectations.
On her way home one night, Belle gets lost and finds herself in Moonwood Mill, where she meets The Beast. This Sim could be easily translated into a werewolf for players withtheWerewolvesgame pack. They havean enemies-to-lovers storylinebefore falling in love and having children together. The Beast may turn into a human Sim if the player chooses, but only after their first child has been born.
Generation Eight - Mulan
Mulan is anActiveSim who dreamed of glory, not for a man of high status to sweep her off her feet. She had dreams of defending her family’s honor byjoining the military career. This career is made possible by theStrangerVillegame pack. For players without this pack, the creator suggests the astronaut career path instead, which is available with the base game.
While hard at work one day, Mulan develops feelings for her coworker. No matter how hard she tries to put her feelings aside, she falls in love with them. After reaching the top of her military career andbecoming a famous Sim, she marries this coworker and has children with them to carry on the legacy.
Generation Nine - Jasmine
Despite popular opinion, Jasmine actually despised being rich and famous. Her parents just wanted the best for their daughter and hoped she would marry rich, but Jasmine had other plans. Players with theCats & Dogsexpansioncan even recreate Jasmine’s faithful feline companion - Rajah.
Jasmine was instructed not to leave the house unless it was for school; however, like her rebellious ancestors, she frequently sneaks out and mingles with bad-boy types. When she meets a poor street rat from the criminal career, she falls head over heels for them. They have four kids together, one girl and then aset of triplet boys.
Generation Ten - Merida
Merida is aSelf-AssuredSim and exudes confidence throughout her life, although it was shaken a bit after an unfortunate accident took the lives of her mother and siblings. Players can imagine theseaccidentsfor themselves ordownload mods for storytellingsuch asLife’s Tragedies by Sacrificial.
Despite her best efforts to change the past, and bring her family back to life, Merida fails. She believes that a curse caused the tragedies in her life, so she never permits herself to fall in love, marry, or have children. She grows up alone and resentful. This, of course, ends the tenth and final generation of the Disney Princess Challenge.
Optional Princesses
For players who would like to continue the challenge, MissPlaying offers ideas for optional generations and encourages players to create their own renditions of Disney stories.
