Tom Holland has received tons of praise for his work on the MCU, especially in last year’sSpider-Man: No Way Home. But perhaps the biggest praise of all comes from veteran Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire, as Maguire shared that he was ‘blown away’ by Holland on the film’s set.

Spider-Man: No Way Homewas filled with many surprises and exciting moments, but one of the biggest ones was seeing pastSpider-Man actors Maguire and Andrew Garfield join Hollandby reprising their iconic web-slinger roles. The MCU film has received overwhelmingly positive reviews and has become one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

Now, in a video for the bonus features of theSpider-Man: No Way Homedigital release(via Insider), Maguire shared some positive comments regarding Holland’s work ethic and overall performance. “Right away, the first scene we shot together, I was just blown away by how good he was in the scene and how generous he was and vulnerable,” Maguire shared. Garfield also contributed his thoughts on hisSpider-Manco-star, adding, “Tom Holland has all the pressure on him. We get to just help him and support him as big brothers, and he’s carrying it.”

Maguire was the first to portray the live-action Spider-Man in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, which ran from 2002 to 2007. While aSpider-Man 4was rumored to be in the works, Garfield was eventually cast in the 2012 reboot,The Amazing Spider-Man, before going on to star in his second solo outing in 2014’sThe Amazing Spider-Man 2. Of course, the poor reviews and underwhelming box office performance of Garfield’s second film eventually prompted Sony to reboot theSpider-Manfranchise with Marvel Studios.

That’s when Holland, rather than starting from scratch with another origin story, he made his exciting debut as Peter Parker inCaptain America: Civil War, where the actor was praised for his youthful portrayal of the famous web-slinger. Disney’s deal with Sony Pictures made it possible for Holland’s Spider-Man to exist within the MCU. He would then go on to star in three solo films with 2017’sSpider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’sSpider-Man: Far From Homeand nowNo Way Home, while also appearing in two crossover films withAvengers: Infinity WarandAvengers: Endgame.

While it’s still unclear what their future entails, there has been plenty of speculation thatNo Way Homewill not mark the end for Maguire, Garfield, or Holland playing Spidey. Maguire has been rumored to have another surprise cameo inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness(which Raimi is directing), while Garfield could potentially earn his third solo outing withThe Amazing Spider-Man 3following his beloved and charismatic performance inNo Way Home. For Holland, Sony producer Amy Pascal has confirmed the actor willreturn for at least three moreSpider-Manfilmsnow that hisHomecomingtrilogy has concluded. But until all of those rumors come true, fans will just have to experience the excitingSpider-Man: No Way Homeall over again.
