Summary
At the moment, theLEGOgame adaptations are thriving. Traveller’s Tales, the main development studio under TT Games, is fresh off of returning to its firstLEGOproperty with 2022’sLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Serving as a massive open-world adaptation of all nineStar Warsfilms, the game impressed fans with its fun gameplay and sheer scope. The Skywalker Sagaonly got larger with DLC characters, and while a rumoredMandalorianexpansion never came to pass, Traveller’s Tales still gave the game some fitting sendoff updates in 2023.
With its accomplishments inThe Skywalker Sagabehind it, many fans are now wondering what’s next for Traveller’s Tales and itsLEGOadaptations. As the British studio is owned by Warner Bros. Games, rumors have claimed thatanotherHarry PotterLEGOgamecould be next. This could potentially mirrorThe Skywalker Sagaas an open-world collection of all the numberedHarry Pottertitles, which would once again make long-timeLEGOandHarry Potterfans very happy. However, Traveller’s Tales has worked with many IPs over its lifetime, and there is one in particular that would take toThe Skywalker Saga’s format even more.

Certain LEGO Games Could Do With A Bigger Modern Sequel
Plenty of small series exist within the licensedLEGOtitles, most being made up of film properties that took multiple games to adapt. TheLEGO Batmanand DC line opted to tell original stories instead, but theLEGO Marvelgames stand out by doing both. 2013’sLEGO Marvel Super Heroesand 2017’sLEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2featured original storieseven if they had some Marvel movie influence, while 2016’sLEGO Marvel’s Avengersdirectly adaptsThe AvengersandMarvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, among other films.
LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Has Lots Of Untapped Potential
It’s interesting to look back on theLEGO Marvelgames now, as all three represented Marvel’s massive cast well, but only touched on sixMarvel Cinematic Universefilms. WhileLEGO Marvel’s Avengersprimarily adapted the first twoAvengersmovies, it also devoted single levels toMarvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,Marvel’s Iron Man 3,Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, andMarvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That’s barely anything in the grand scheme of theMCU’s first three Phases, so it isn’t hard to imagine Traveller’s TalesgivingMarvel’s AvengerstheSkywalker Sagatreatment.
TT Games Should Tackle Marvel’s Avengers With The Skywalker Saga’s Scope
A hypotheticalLEGO Marvel Cinematic Universe, orLEGO Marvel’s Avengers: The Infinity Saga, could easily cover the first three Phases of theMCU. The game would adapt Phases likeThe Skywalker SagacoveredStar Wars’ three film trilogies, even if it may need tocut many more scenes thanThe Skywalker Sagadid. Most films could be compressed down to one level, like howLEGO Marvel’s Avengershandled them, and choice installments could be filed down even smaller than that. These lesser films, as well as various Marvel TV shows, could be represented by side quests in an open world comparable toThe Skywalker Saga’s own.
How A Second LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Can Match The Skywalker Saga
It would be tricky to design anMCUopen world, as several films trot the globe and others take place in outer space. Traveller’s Tales would need to choose its hub maps carefully, though itsLEGOgame history proves it’s capable of the task. Once players are done reliving theMCU’s first three Phases, they could even unlock an alternate universe hub map hosting the many miscellaneous characters from later Phases, TV shows, andeven un-adapted Marvel comics. Marvel’s ownLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagawould be the celebration ofThe Infinity Sagasuch a massive project deserves, so hopefully, Traveller’s Tales will tackle it eventually.
