Updated June 25, 2025 by Marc Santos:Mining Iron Ore in V Rising has remained the same in the full launch version. Players who already know the best methods of getting Iron will find that their old ways are still very valid in the present. However, the entirety of the map was tweaked to feature new and improved areas that may also contain large deposits of iron — such areas may not have been covered in this guide before. V Rising: How to Get Iron

Before going out for Iron, first make sure that you have a Merciless Copper Weapon equipped. Ideally, you should be using a Merciless Copper Mace, but anything will do (even ranged weapons likethe Longbow inV Rising). you’re able to get these by purchasing their recipes from Merchants, getting them randomly from bosses, chests, and enemies, or by unlocking them in a Research Desk by spending Paper.

With a Merciless Copper weapon in hand, players must now set their sights on locating veins of Iron. These veins can be found in theDunley Farmlandsto the north of the Farbane Woods, and theHaunted Iron Minesin particular are a great place to target. The precise position of the Haunted Iron Mines has been marked on the map above, and indeed they are situated on the southern border of the Farmlands.

Alternatively, there is a cave in the center of the Farmlands that’s full of Iron Ore. The total number of veins here is lower than in the Haunted Iron Mine, but they are more densely concentrated in one spot. To enter this cave, you must use explosives or Bear Form to break through the boulders covering the entrances. You’ll also need Bear Form to harvest the Giant Iron Nodes inside the cave.

Once a player has located a suitable vein, they should hit it with their Merciless Copper weapon to extractIron Ore. Fans can then smelt thisV RisingmaterialintoIron Ingotsin theirFurnaces, provided that they have unlocked the recipe that allows for that transmutation to be performed. For full clarity, the Iron Ingot recipe is earned by defeatingQuincey the Bandit King, a Level 40 boss who can be tracked through the V Blood Menu.

The Iron Ingot recipe is not the only reward that players will receive for dispatching the Bandit King, though, as they will also earn Iron Weapon recipes and the ability to construct aSmithyat their castles. As some fans will undoubtedly expect, thatV Rising crafting stationis used to mold Iron Ingots into Iron equipment, making it a very important part of this whole process.

To note, Iron is certainly not the last metal thatvampire video gamefans will encounter during their time withV Rising, and it will only be a matter of time before they are making Merciless Iron equipment and using it to farm Silver. Players will need to exercise some additional care when handling that material, though, as carrying it can deal damage to the vampire.
