Before the premiere of their new movieSomebody I Used To Know, actress Alison Brie decided to ease her husband and director Dave Franco’s nerves in anticipation of the film’s release by running naked through their hotel hallway in a prank that was as hilarious as it was heartwarming.
With the two of them on a press tour for the newAmazon Prime Videomovie that they collaborated on together, Brie decided to prank her husband by streaking through the hotel and then surprising him at the door in an effort to calm Franco’s anxiety.

On her personal Instagram, Brie posted a video of her streaking through the hotel hallway with the caption, “What to do when your husband is feeling anxious about his movie premiere…” In the video itself, Brie is running through the hallway naked, then knocks on her hotel door. The video then hits fast forward as Brie pointed out that Franco didn’t answer because he thought his wife was in the shower. When he finally does, Brie tells him, “Happy premiere night!” while jumping up and down. Brie’s prank made Franco smile, but he proceeded to laughingly ask her to “Get out of the hall!” As she walked in, Brie admitted that she’s “done three laps already!”
Not only is it a cute and funny prank for Brie to pull on her husband as a way to get him to relax for the film’s premiere, but it’s also a clever reference to the new movie that he directed, and she stars in, as Brie’s character also streaks during the movie. It’s so notable that the movie poster for it is a still of her character running naked. Brie and Franco have been married since 2017 and collaborated on multiple projects together dating back to 2014. As actors,they were inThe Lego Movie,The Little Hours, andThe Disaster Artist, though this is actually the second time he’s directed Brie, as he directed a short film with the two of them calledDream Girl. They also co-wroteSomebody I Used To Know.
Franco’s nerves are understandable given that, as a director, he basically was the captain of the ship. There is usually more pressure on the director of a film than there is on an actor. What makes the prank all the better is that it’s all in good fun on Brie’s part, and it was clear that she did it to put him at ease for the film’s premiere. It was clever thinking on her end, and it demonstrates that the two of them truly do have a healthy relationship.
Better yet, the reviews forSomebody I Used To Knowseem to be overall pretty positive. In a Hollywood erawhere romantic comedies aren’t as prevalentas they used to be, but still get made, Franco’s and Brie’s film appears to enter new territory. Even though it is about romance, it’s also about Brie’s character realizing how much she’s changed over time as a person since dumping her ex and wondering if she made the right choices in life. Anyone who has gone past their 20s and is entering their 40s has probably had those same thoughts.
