World of Warcraft: Plunderstormwill soon come to an end, as Blizzard confirmed that the limited-time battle royale will conclude its initial run on Tuesday, April 30. However, to tideWorld of Warcraftplayers over, Blizzard also stated that the reputation gained from taking part in Plunderstorm will be doubled starting with the April 16 weekly maintenance.
Introduced in Patch 10.2.6, Plunderstorm is a 60-player PVP battle royale that has a pirate theme and rewards to match. With the Arathi Basin serving as the battleground, players must loot and plunder their way across the map and take down both NPC enemies and other players looking to claim the top spot. Various items and spells based loosely onWorld of Warcraft’s 13 classes can also be found by killing enemies and looting treasure chests, though their effects and potency will differ. Throughout Plunderstorm’s run, Blizzard has also made adjustments to each item and spell in the battle royale and has even hosted a Plunderstorm content creator event.
ThoughPlunderstorm will soon meet its maker, the battle royale event will have one final sendoff to give players a better chance to claim some exclusive rewards.According to Blizzard, starting on April 16 alongside weekly maintenance,World of Warcraftplayers who take part in Plunderstorm will earn twice the reputation gained depending on how much plunder was looted in a match. This buff will last until April 30, when Plunderstorm will end its current run. This bonus will be in effect for Solos, Duos, and Trios, and will also be granted upon winning a match. With 40 Renown ranks and 2,500 reputation points needed to level up each rank,World of Warcraftplayers looking to finish their Renown track will have an easier time earning rewards such as the Plunderlord’s attire and the Polly Roger dragon riding mount.
When Will World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm End?
It is not known if any Plunderstorm rewards will return toWorld of Warcraftin the future, so players looking to claim anything will have until April 30 to do so. Before Plunderstorm concludes,World of Warcraft: DragonflightSeason 4 will beginon Tuesday, April 23, following server maintenance. The new season will add a new dungeon reward track for Heroic and Mythic difficulties, an updated Mythic+ Dungeon rotation, and AwakenedDragonflightraids that rotate periodically and offer a chance at better rewards for clearing them.
Though the battle royale will soon set sail from Azeroth, Blizzard has stated thatPlunderstorm could return toWorld of Warcraftat some point. Only time will tell when that will be.
