Fans of Zack Snyder are likely still getting themselves psyched up for theimpending release ofZack Snyder’s Justice League, a four-hour extravaganza that aims to rebuild the director’s original version of the film. Those who have been following him closely, however, are also likely aware that he has quite a few irons in the fire at the moment, including a new zombie-heist film titledArmy of the Dead.
The film has been in production for some time now and is planned to release on Netflix at some point in 2021. So far the summary of the project is self-explanatory and ridiculous, with a group of mercenaries planninga heist in a zombie-infested Las Vegas. While there hasn’t been much news about the project in a while, teases still go out every now and then, and the latest is another image from the film.

In a recent article from Empire magazine, Snyder’s latest action flick showed off a new image of Dave Bautista’s character from the film, along with an interview from the man himself. Not only was Bautista excited to be working on the project, but he also talked about his love of zombies in pop-culture.
According to the star of the film, he’d been trying to get onAMC’sThe Walking Deadas a zombie for a while now, but hadn’t had the opportunity because he didn’t fit the look. Bautista said, “I’m a zombie fan. I tried to get onWalking Deadfor years. I said I would come and play a zombie for free, but they said, ‘You’re too big!’”
Now that he has his chance withArmy of the Dead,however, Bautista says that the project is something special. Obviously, the heist element of the film sets it apart, but he also says the film has a lot of layers that audiences will notice when the movie comes out on Netflix this year.
Bautista was so excited by the project that the actor claims he even turned down a role inJames Gunn’sThe Suicide Squadin order to work onArmy of the Dead. Bautista certainly seems to have a lot of faith in the project, so hopefully, it pays off when the full film hits Netflix later this year.
